Our Approach and Services

Detect and protect against colorectal cancer

Ensure your health and be proactive against colorectal cancer with a screening colonoscopy. A vital tool for early detection and prevention, a screening colonoscopy can help identify cancerous and pre-cancerous conditions even when a patient has no symptoms.

At New York Gastroenterology Associates (NYGA), our expert specialists use these screenings for two critical purposes:

  1. Diagnose colon cancer early, when it's easiest to treat
  2. Remove growths, known as polyps, before they turn into cancer

Who should get screened?

According to current guidelines, individuals over the age of 45 or those at risk due to family medical history, personal medical conditions, and lifestyle factors should undergo a screening colonoscopy.

Insurance

We accept most commercial insurance plans and Medicare. Screening colonoscopies are often covered at no out-of-pocket cost, but coverage can vary – check with your insurer to confirm. For questions about accepted plans, call 212-826-3903 or text 646-419-4947.

Where can I get a screening colonoscopy?

Your screening colonoscopy will take place at one of our three state-of-the-art facilities: The Endoscopy Center of New York, Carnegie Hill Endoscopy Center, or Manhattan Endoscopy Center.

All scheduling is handled directly by NYGA. Our staff is ready to assist with booking and can help answer any questions.

Pre-procedure consultations with a physician are available at our offices in Manhattan and Brooklyn and through telehealth, and may be required for some patients or by certain NYGA physicians.
