We are delighted to announce that hepatologist Jennifer Leong, M.D., has joined NYGA. Dr. Leong will provide direct patient care focused on the liver and assist in building a best-in-class liver center. She will practice from NYGA’s 79th Street office, where she will perform non-invasive ultrasound elastography tests to help assess liver fibrosis. She will perform endoscopy procedures at Carnegie Hill Endoscopy.
NYGA’s liver center will take a multidisciplinary team approach, including gastroenterologists and registered dietitians, to the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of liver diseases and conditions. The liver center will also actively participate in clinical research trials.
Board certified in gastroenterology and transplant hepatology, Dr. Leong is a specialist in liver medicine and transplantation. Dr. Leong joins NYGA from Mount Sinai, where she will continue to serve as an assistant professor of medicine. She completed her medical degree and residency training at NYU, a GI fellowship at North Shore University Medical Center, and a transplant hepatology fellowship at Mount Sinai.
